Find spare parts before it's too late.

An asteroid crossing the universe, collecting all spaceships that cross its way, on way into a massive star. You crashed into this asteroid and you need to search for spare parts to leave it before it explodes. But you are not the only one in this situation…

    Leave or die was a game developed in college, during multiplayer classes. Its current stage is possible to play locally against other players on the same keyboard. The main mechanic of this game is the competition among the players. They have to dig across the asteroid to search for spare parts for their spaceship. Besides the time the players need to take caution because both spaceships require one item in common. Whoever got all the parts first and installed them into the spaceship might win.

 

    The game was developed in Unity, using C#. Some of the challenges of this project was creating a destructible map, which doesn’t affect the performance, and keep a nice collision system. The asteroid is a tile grid with box colliders in each cell, so when a shot collides with it is destroyed. I chose event-driven architecture which was essential to make it easier to connect every element with the game manager, specially the creation of the spare parts list and which player has which item.
